Seriously Serena Williams looked amazing at her appearance the other night on Letterman. She deserves to look pretty before the US Open starts on Sunday and she has to spend her days sweaty. If you were curious her shoes are Christian Louboutins that cost $4,000. It pays to be good.

Remember that big UFC fight that was happening on Saturday . . . . Well Chael Sonnen should officially shut his mouth. As expected Anderson Silva beat him again. And all is right with the world. Silva has not been defeated for 15 straight matches now which is the longest streak in UFC history.
Sonnen came out strong in the first five minutes putting Silva on the ground. But couldn’t hold onto and Silva came back in the second round. Silva got a knee on Sonnens chest and pinned him against the cage wall. With 1:55 in the second round a TKO(technical knockout) was called and Silva won. A technical knockout means that a referee decides a fighter can no longer intelligently defend himself or in laymans’ terms he might get killed.
So there you have it the end of trash talk from Sonnen for now . . . maybe he will want another rematch in a couple of years.

Serena Williams just won her 5th Wimbledon title on Saturday. She took out first-time finalist Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 5-7. 6-2. That poor Polish girl didn’t stand a chance against Williams’ aces. She had 102 aces in the tournament and 4 in one game. That’s amazing considered she just recovered from foot surgery. This is Williams’ 14th major title.
The fun is not over for Williams who will be competing with Venus later today in the doubles final. We will be watching.

I don’t know a single person who thought that Miguel Cotto was going to topple undefeated Floyd ‘Crazy’ ‘Money’ Mayweather last night at the MGM Grande. Mayweather won by decision, 116-112. Apparently the crowd at the MGM really wanted to see Cotto win and booed when the judges announced their decision. They also cheered when images of a beaten up Mayweather came on the screen. Mayweather managed to keep Cotto on the offense for most of the rounds.
The fight proved what everyone thought it would Mayweather at 35 is still an amazingly quick boxer with smart intuition. Cotto did what he could to make the fight interesting and not let Mayweather trample him. The high point for Cotto is that he made Mayweather’s noise bleed. Overall though Mayweather got more total punches, more jabs and more power punches. And celebrity wise Mayweather definitely won with an entourage that included Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and wrestler HHH.
Now Mayweather will celebrate with a relaxing 3-month jail trip. During which he can think of more excuses for not fighting Manny Pacquiao.
