Oh Silly Rabbit, Don’t You Know Better Than to Create a Fake Website

19 Aug

San Francisco Giants’ Melky Cabrera for tried to fool the MLB into thinking he “accidently” took performance enhancing drugs. Cabrera’s people created a fake website that sells a suspicious supplement with side effects of increasing testosterone. It was their execuse for why Cabrera suddenly had a spike in testosterone. Cabrera paid a consultant, Juan Nunez, to create the site for $10,000. Nunez is now taking the fall for the failed plan.

I can’t say I blame them for trying. I mean after all we are talking about the MLB who still thinks that most of their players are not doping so they are definitely not the brightest crayons in the box. So where did this genius sad plan go wrong? The site only magically appeared during the appeals process. Don’t they know if you are going to launch a cover-up it needs to be way before Cabrera has already been suspended. The MLB maybe be dumb but they are not that dumb.

It Was Funny at the Time?

19 Aug

I think we have all experienced this in our lives. You decide to pull a stupid prank on a friend. And at the time it is hilarious . . . I mean who doesn’t think drawing a penis in permanent marker on someone’s face while they sleep isn’t funny? But this was long before the days of video phones and Twitter. Now pranks that maybe weren’t that bad look really bad during the replay. That is exactly the situation that the Giants’ defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is facing. He decided with the help of other teammates to carry cornerback Prince Amukamara through the locker room and toss him into a cold tub. Because they thought it was so funny punter Steve Weatherford posted a video to Twitter.

Apparently not everyone else was laughing. In fact a lot of people were really disturbed by the video. During the entire thing Amukamara looks very uncomfortable. You can’t blame the guy he just got paraded around on some other dudes backs and thrown into cold water. Just like when you are a kid and mom got involved, coach Tom Coughlin is now having to figure out some sort of punishment. How do you punish a bad football player? I don’t know but I think it involves sprints.

Another Bites Rousey’s Dust

19 Aug

As predicted Ronda Rousey beat down opponent Sarah Kaufman at Saturday night’s Strikeforce match in San Diego. It took Rousey all of 54 seconds to defeat Kaufman. And yes she did it using her signature armbar move. Rousey maybe a one-trick pony but she has managed to keep her title.  And since there are no other worthy competitors in her weight class Rousey decided to pick a bone with Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos who is less hot version of Rousey in the 145 weight class. The two have been battling it out in the media for sometime. Santos has tried to provoke Rousey to move up a weight class so they can fight. After the fight Rousey said that Santos should either come to her weight class or meet her outside for a street fight. Neither of which happened. Santos is still serving out a suspension for steroid use.

What did happen is that all of this got us talking about women’s MMA . . . wait how did that happen again?
