I’m So Excited . . .Lakers Taking Over

15 Aug

Even if you are not a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers you have to be excited to see the team play with the new additions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. This poster just got me even more excited. I think the only people who are not excited are Miami Heat fans.

Does This Work For You?

Olympic legend Michael Phelps is modeling in new ads for Louis Vuitton shot by famous photographer/the only photographer people know anymore Annie Leibovitz. I think there are a lot of things that Phelps is good at but I’m not sure modeling is one of them. What do you think?

Rafael Nadal Missing US Open

15 Aug

Tennis player Rafael Nadal will not be playing in the US Open due to an ongoing knee injury. The injury also caused Nadal to have to withdraw from the London Olympics. Nadal hasn’t played since the shocking loss in the second round of Wimbledon to Lukas Rosol on June 28. Knee problems have been a constant problem for Nadal who know for intense playing. He is considered a grinder, which basically means he plays intense defense on court.

The US Open begins on August 27th. Everyone will be watching as Wimbledon champion Roger Federer takes on Olympic Gold Medalist Andy Murray.

That’s Painful . . . Chad Getting Dumped By Dolphins

15 Aug

It is interesting how much sports is like dating sometimes. This video surfaced today of Chad Ochocinco Johnson being let go by Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin. I think the only thing that could have made this more painful is if Philbin had lead with “we need to talk.” Luckly, HBO was there to film the who painful ordeal for it’s series “Hard Knocks.” I’m sure HBO didn’t expect to have this much excitement seeing as how the Dolphins were literally the only team who was willing to participate in the series.

You can see in the video Johnson lobbies a little bit to try to stay but it is obvious that Philbin is not changing his mind.
