I think this video does the best job of describing the mixed emotions Orlando Magic fans are feeling now that Dwight Howard is going to the Los Angeles Lakers. Oh yeah and it’s hilarious.

While we have all been distracted by the Olympic regular sports have continued on. MMA fighter/Kardashian hater Ronda Rousey is preparing to defend her Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title(between 126-135 pounds). The 135 pound Rousey will take on 135 pound Sarah Kaufman, Saturday August 18th from Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. It will be broadcast on Showtime for those of you who are interested in watching the action.
Kaufman is a former champ but if I were her I’d be worried because none of Rousey’s fights have made it past the first round. Rousey is famous for ending her fights with submission using the arm bar giving her the nickname of the “arm collector.” Rousey also told Conan that she thinks sex before a fight is a good thing for women. She should have no trouble getting dates after gracing the cover of ESPN’s the Body Issue.

While Peyton Manning was getting so-so reviews after his first game with the Denver Broncos, his replacement at the Indianapolis Colts’, Andrew Luck, was shining in the spotlight. The number 1 draft pick proved he was worth every penny($22 million to be exact) with his first pass (63 yards) ending in a touchdown. Overall Luck had 10 of 16 passes complete for 188 yards(if you remember Manning had 44 yards on his debut with the Broncos). He ended the night with a passing rating of 142.6( a perfect passer rating is 158.3). So not to shabby for his first NFL game. The Colts beat the St. Louis Rams 38-3. Not that beating the Rams who have almost no defense is anything to brag about.
So welcome to the big league Luck, now you’ll be expected to do even better.

It has not been a good weekend for football player Chad Ochocinco Johnson. First on Friday Johnson drops the only pass he was given in the preseason opener game. On Saturday Johnson was arrested for head-butting his new bride/ “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada. Apparently Lozada was upset when she found a receipt for a box of condoms in the trunk of the car. She confronted Johnson only to get head-butted. Johnson claims that it was actually Lozada who head-butted him, although he didn’t have a mark on him.
Just a mere 24 hours later the Miami Dolphins decided to let Johnson go. Coach Joe Philbin says it is merely a coincidence that he is releasing Johnson after his arrest for battery. Philbin had apparently been itching to get rid of Johnson after he proven to more than a handful. Johnson thought he was the star of the Dolphins despite his terrible last season with the New England Patriots. Johnson would barge into meetings and cursed like a sailor in front of the press. Which luckily HBO has caught on tape thanks to the the “Hard Knocks” series featuring the Dolphins.
If things couldn’t get any worse Johnson just lost his up coming reality show VH1 ”Ev and Ocho”(not really sure why it’s called Ocho since he changed his name). Apparently domestic battery is the line that VH1 won’t cross when it comes to reality television. So now Johnson is wifeless, jobless, and even reality televisionless. When reality television rejects you on moral grounds you know you have problems.

The Olympics have come to an end. And although I will not miss my daily does of water polo and Subways constant avocado promotions, I am sad to seem them go. The Olympics remind us of how truly amazing the human body is and what we can overcome to achieve. And what better way to pump up our egos than celebrating the fact that the US took home more gold medals than any other country. So let’s take a moment and enjoy our gold before we are forced to hand it over to China.
