Hot Olympian of the Day: Jeremy Wariner

9 Jul

Jeremy Wariner is no stranger to the Olympics. Back in the 2004 Olympics he won 3 gold medals in 400 meter sprinting. In 2008 he won the silver in the 400 meter. Now he’s back for more in the relay competition this summer in London. He’s not only hot but an amazing runner.

Reasons to love Wariner:

1. His nickname is “Pookie.”It’s embroided on his racing spikes. Interesting . . .

2. He loves to watch Food Network. Most guys are secretly Food Network junkies.

3. He has a Saint Bernard named Heidi. He takes Heidi to the track to watch him train.

4. He is a true Texas boy who favorite food is BBQ.

5. He favorite artist are Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

I love this photo. Serena Williams looks amazing. Is that dress in her new line? Roger Federer looks pretty good too. Congrats to both on their Wimbledon win.

The Most Confusing Trade Ever

9 Jul

So Dwight Howard has his heart on moving from the Orlando Magic to the Brooklyn Nets. In order for this to happen a bunch of other trades need to happen. It is literally an orgy of trades. I made a diagram to try to illustrate how absurd this trading situation is. Here is the easiest way I can explain it. And it is still confusing.

The Orlando Magic

Lose: Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhan, Earl Clark, and Quentin Richardson.

Gain: Brook Lopez, Luke Walton, Damion James, Shelden Williams, and Armon Johnson. They also get 3 first-round picks. Two picks from the Nets and one lottery protected pick from the Clippers.
The Brooklyn Nets

Lose: Brook Lopez, Damion James, Shelden Williams, Armon Johnson, Kris Humphries, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, and MarShon Brooks. And the two first round picks to the Magic.

Gain: Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhan, and Earl Clark.

The Cleveland Cavaliers

Lose: Luke Walton

Gain: Kris Humphries, Quentin Richardson, and Sundiata Gaines.

The Los Angeles Clippers

Lose: One lottery protected pick to the Magic.

Gain: MarShon Brooks.

So who wins in all of this? I think only Dwight Howard.

And You Think Nothing Exciting Happens in Baseball

9 Jul

No one at the Texas Rangers/Minnesota Twins game last night was complaining due to a lack of action. The game was boldly interrupted last night by lighting. It was so loud and so powerful that Twins center fielder Denard Span tweeted, “That’s the loudest noise I’ve ever heard. I thought Jesus was comin!”

It is kind of funny to watch all these grown men running from lightning. I can’t blame them but still so funny.
