Spurs Sweep Series

20 May

The Los Angeles Clippers put up a fight for their lives tonight. The game was incredibly close and it really looked like the Clippers might just beat the San Antonio Spurs. This was definitely the best game so far for Chris Paul. Paul who is still injured but never blames his playing on that, scored 23 points and 11 assist. Blake Griffin helped out despite biting his lip pretty hard in the first half with 21 points. Griffin would be even more helpful if he could get more than 5 rebounds a game but I’m sure he is working on that now.The game really came down to Paul making a crucial shot with 10 seconds left but it just didn’t happen. I’m going to blame his injuries even if he won’t.

This is the 18th consecutive win for the Spurs. Tim Duncan(who has not been called old yet but I’m sure that talk will start if they face the Thunder) scored 21 points. Tony Parker was behind him scoring 17 points. Now the Spurs sit and wait to see if they will play the Lakers or Thunder. If I were the Spurs I would hope for the Lakers.

Heat Tie Series

20 May

If Dwayne Wade is suffering from an injury it was hard to tell. Wade, who sucked in Game 3, scored 30 points for the Heat and 22 of them in the second half on Sunday. He literally was killing it tonight. It makes you forget that they are missing their 3rd musketeer Chris Bosh.  The Heat beat the Pacers, 101-93. The series is now tied 2-2. LeBron James showed that he really wants that championship ring. James scored 40 points, had 18 rebounds and 9 assists. Maybe the Heat were inspired by SNL’s skit last night.

Pacer’s Danny Granger led the pack with 20 points. In the second half Granger just couldn’t get in position to make the shots he needed to. The Pacer’s lack a strong defense to shut down the Heat. The question is will the same Wade show up for Game 5 or will he back to his injury slump?

Where the Lakers Screwed Up

20 May

Kevin Durant looked more like an MVP than ever before Saturday night. The Oklahoma City Thunder who trailed behind the Los Angeles Lakers for most of the game came back in the 4th quarter for the win. Durant made an incredible 3-point tie breaking shot with 13.7 seconds left. This means that the Thunder lead the series 3-1.

If you are Lakers fan you are wondering how did this happen? How did we come so close but not seal the deal? It’s like a date where you bought dinner, drinks, and then somehow are left standing on the doorstep by yourself.

Here is a list of reason of what may have happened?

1. Not only did Durant score 31 points in the game he had great support from Russell Westbrook who scored 37 points. I know you are thinking but Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players of all time. This is true and Bryant scored 38 points for the Lakers. The difference is Bryant did have the same kind of support. Pau Gasol was not playing aggressively last night and only scored 10 points and had 5 rebounds. Which is bad enough without Bryant blaming the game on him in the media. Andrew Bynum scored 18 points for the Lakers.
