What do we think of the blue clay courts at the Madrid Open? I kinda like them, but some players have been moaning and groaning. Novak Djokovic thinks the ball bounce will be harder to gague, and Rafael Nadal flat-out says the blue courts are a mistake.
We have seen tennis before on blue hard courts before, like at the US Open. However, clay is a natural surface, and the artificial blue can be jarring. Who knows, maybe blue clay will be easier to wash out of socks than traditional red clay.
