The former New York Giants(now with the San Francisco 49ers) running back Brandon Jacobs is in the shit again. If you will remember after the Super Bowl Jacobs oh so famously told Gisele Bundchen to stop talking about football and just focus on being pretty. Now Jacobs is being accused of participating in a car escort scandal a year ago. Basically what happened was two trooper cars escorted a group of luxury vehicles down the NJ Turnpike so that they could go at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The group of cars had tape over their licenses and was on their way to Atlantic City.
For those of you who have never sat in traffic on the Turnpike it can be brutal. I once was on the Turnpike on way to NYC for 6 hours just sitting. I was contemplating peeing into a cup and debating if I was going to make it out alive. The point is that people who are stuck on the Turnpike have a lot of time to take in the scenery. Therefore it is kind of shocking that the troopers thought they would get away with it. Two troopers were briefly suspended in the matter.
It is not shocking to see Jacobs involved since he is a fast car enthusiast and let’s face it where do you drive fast cars in Jersey. I am not sure what people were more mad about this story: the obvious safety issues or that rich people got to avoid Turnpike traffic. For me it is the rich people avoiding traffic, the Turnpike took 6 hours from my life that I will never get back.
