Asheville So Close But No Cigar

I originally told everyone you could skip this game. I was so wrong. This was a close game that made me have to discover exactly what channel TruTV is, 74(in LA). I am from NC and I didn’t even know Asheville’s mascot, the bulldogs, that is how remote there team is. Syracuse ranked 1 against UNC-Asheville ranked 16, who would have thought it would have been such an intense game. The final score was Syracuse 72 to Asheville 65. I guess we all know how essential Fab Melo is to Syracuse now. I can also say that I am happy unhappy that I have Syracuse beating Kansas State in my bracket.

Knicks Finally Win

Right after the exit of coach Mike D’Antoni the Knicks win against the Portland Trail Blazers, 129-79. It was like Carmelo Anthony was waiting for him to leave to start actually playing. Anthony had seven assist tying his season high. But let’s face it beating the Blazers is not that big of accomplishment. The Blazers are one of the worst teams in the NBA. If they had lost to them then I would say you have serious problems. Let’s see how the Knicks do against a real competitor before we judge the effect of D’Antoni leaving. One thing is clear everything is on Anthony’s shoulders now.

Dwight Howard Staying Put

I never thought I would be writing that Dwight Howard is staying with the Orlando Magic for another season. I guess Howard read that he was becoming a Lebron James so he decided to stay put. This is what he said, “I have gotten some bad advice. I apologize for this circus I have caused to the fans of our city. They didn’t deserve none of this.” He will be getting $19 million for another season but could have gotten a lot more if he moved. I think it is nice that Howard stay in Orlando but it would have interesting to see him with the new Nets. Maybe next summer Howard and Deron Williams will play together, the question is on what team. Will Williams stay with the Nets past next season?

Murray Crushing Colorado St.

So Colorado St. was one of my random underdog picks now Murray is literally crushing them with a 10-point league. With this kind of heat Murray could keep going and mess up the rest of my bracket. If you are not watching this game, don’t bother to turn it on. Murray is going to win unless Colorado St. does something amazing.

 

UPDATE: My Thursday Bracket Picks

There are 16 games happening today so we have all pick which ones are worth it.

Here are the obvious games:

UNC-Asheville VS. Syracuse- Yes, Syracuse is down a major player but it would take a miracle for them to lose. UPDATE: The miracle might be happening, turn on your television to TruTV NOW! UPDATE: UNC-ASHEVILLE LOST.

Harvard VS. Vanderbilt- Vanderbilt just beat Kentucky so I would be shocked for them not to make it past Harvard.

Western Kentucky VS. Kentucky- Um yeah so Kentucky is going to win, is there any question?

Here are the less obvious games:

UConn VS. Iowa St.- Okay so this could be a close one. Connecticut has had a rocky season but I believe they can pull past Iowa. They have some amazing players like Jeremy Lamb. My money is on Connecticut.

Creighton VS. Alabama- These teams are so closely ranked that it is definitely going to be a great game. My money is on Creighton to move on to the next round.

VCU VS. Wichita St. – These are both solid mid-level teams. I think it should be a really good game. My money is on VCU.

UNLV VS Colorado- Again a pretty interesting mash-up. I am hoping for a Colorado win. I just have a feeling.
