In Defense of Dancing

24 Feb

Rob Gronkowski, the NE Patriot’s dancing machine tight-end, has finally spoken publicly about his dance moves after the Patriots Super Bowl loss. He said on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, basically that he works really hard and doesn’t have time to party. He also mentioned that he hadn’t seen his family and they love to party. Lastly he didn’t want to give up the chance to dance on stage with LMFAO because we all know that is a weekend at a club in LA once in a life time opportunity.

In the words of the Beasty Boy, you gotta fight for your right to party. We are talking about the guy who got caught in his off time with porn star BiBi Jones so he knows a little something about partying. Still got to feel bad for all those fans that were super upset and didn’t get anything a chance to dance with LMFAO to make their pain go away.

PS

I know Gronkowski has good abs but maybe all of this would hurt a little less if the boy would just keep his shirt on? I mean who takes their shirt off at the club, does he think he is on the Jersey Shore?

Jeremy Lin- True or False?

24 Feb

There has been a lot of coverage of Jeremy Lin. To test your knowledge I thought we would play a game of true or false:

1. Jeremy Lin trademarked the term “linsanity?” (Yes we thought this had already been trade marked for a certain Hollywood celebrity but alas we were wrong.)

2. Jeremy Lin is dating Kim Kardashian.

3. Jeremy Lin already has a shoe deal.

4. Jeremy Lin is BFFs with Tim Tebow.

5. Jeremy Lin will be playing on the US Olympic Basketball team.

1. True. Jeremy Lin owns the rights to the term “linsanity.” It includes the rights to 50 consumer products that would bare the term “linsanity.” This is a smart move for the Harvard grad because the NBA owns his jersey this way he skirts that and has “linsanity” jerseys printed instead.

2. False. Although this may seem like a right of passage for NBA players both parties are denying anything is happening.

3. True. Nike is doing a line of Zoom Hyperfuse shoes for Jeremy Lin to wear. I know you can’t wait to buy these.

4. True/False. The two have talking a lot since they are both rich celebrities Christians.

5. False. Despite the outcry from fans Jeremy Lin has not been added to the US Olympic Basketball team. They believe that he should work his way up to such a big honor. Although I bet for the ratings NBC is wishing he were going to play.

Lin is Human!

24 Feb

If you have been reading the news lately you may have thought that Jeremy Lin, the breakout star of the Knicks, was a basketball machine. Personally I had thought that when he took on the Lakers Kobe Bryant that basketball order would be restored instead Lin scored more points than Kobe and the Knicks beat the Lakers.

It wasn’t until Lin meet all-stars Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh that things got real. Poor Lin only scored 8-points and Miami won over the Knicks. I have to say I love the story of Lin rising to the top in the weirdest twist of fate in basketball history but it is nice to know the all-stars are all-stars for a reason. If somebody hadn’t put Lin in his place I was going to begin to question those huge salaries. I mean really you can’t beat a guy who was cut twice from two so-so teams?

How To Lose $1.6 Million

24 Feb

Okay the first step to losing $1.6 million is to have $1.6 million in the first place. Which if you are an NBA star during a lockout can be acquired by playing basketball in China. It came out today that Knick’s J.R. Smith lost more than $1.6 million of his Chinese basketball salary over a brain injury knee injury. The Chinese team apparently thought he was not really trying to work through it so they charge him for every practice he missed. I don’t know how bad this injury was but for $1.6 million I would definitely be hitting the court, pain or no pain.

We can all take comfort that despite Smith’s money loss he will always have the love of his pet panda, Brad Garrett. Seeing as how panda’s are on the endangered species list maybe he can sell Brad to make the extra cash back.

Tebow Goes Hollywood

23 Feb

Tim Tebow, the Bronco’s QB, has got himself an agent. I guess his religion has nothing against going after big money. His new WME agent will handle his speaking appearances, endorsements, book, film and TV deals. All I can say is that I can’t wait to see Tebow try his chops at acting. I think he will be the next George Clooney Keanu Reeves.

The Most Expensive Entourage

20 Feb

How do you go from being the number 1 NBA pick for the 76ers to being broke? The answer is easy your entourage is the size of second grade class with 50 people. Allen Iverson has had his bank account seized because he was unable to pay $800,000 to jewelry store. It is shocking considering that Iverson made $150 million plus in his NBA career.

Now AI is getting offers from an indoor soccer league to play for $20,000 a game. Although this is an absurd offer, I think he should take it. I mean MJ switched to baseball so crazier things have happened.

Adjust Your Bracket- Duke & Kansas Rise

13 Feb

As a Duke fan nothing gives me more pleasure then reporting that Duke is now ranked number 5 a position that used to belong to UNC. After Duke beat UNC thanks to an amazing three pointer by freshman Austin Rivers. Kansas also moved up to number 4 from number 7. Now the real question will it be Syracuse and Kentucky that remain at the top?

Sandusky Gets to See Grandkids

13 Feb

A judge granted Jerry Sandusky, the now infamous child abuser from Penn State, the right to visit with his grandchildren. Sandusky faces 52 criminal accounts based on his sexual abuse of 10 boys over 15 years. It is going to be nearly impossible to find a fair jury in PA that hasn’t heard every detail of this case.

No worries about the grandkids because their parents must be present for any visit. What is disturbing is that Sandusky lives in front of an elementary school and is on home confinement. The concerned parents wanted Sandusky ordered to stay indoors but the judge denied it. If I were one of those parents I wouldn’t be late to pick up my kid.

The Moss is Back?

13 Feb

What do football players and models have in common? Both have aged out of their fields in their thirties. Randy Moss apparently didn’t get this memo and is planning a return to professional football at the age of 35. Moss had retired in 2010 after being traded by the Patriots to the Vikings and then again to the Titans. Moss’s career accomplishments are 954 receptions for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns over 13 seasons. The real question is does Moss have it in him to come back? Fellow old timers Tom Brady, 34, thinks he does but something tells us that Bill Belichick doesn’t agree. I dare you to add him to your fantasy team.

Stoudemire Returns to Knicks

13 Feb

The Knick’s forward Amare Stoudemire is returning to practice today after taking off a week because of the untimely death of his brother. He is expected to play in tomorrow nights game. Will Stoudemire’s return steal Lin’s spotlight?
